Service Technician

If you are ready to take your technical knowledge further, join our team of alarm installers and technicians. Our company provides a wide range of services, including state-of-the-art fire alarm installation and maintenance. As a fire alarm systems installer, you will meet new people every day and use your technical skills to give them the fire protection they need. In this position, you will be among the first in your profession to learn about exciting new technology in the field. You will have the opportunity to expand your skillset through our training and development programs and take advantage of our employee-oriented work environment that enables our team members to reach their full potential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install and program control panels and all other equipment for fire alarm systems with the guidance of building plans and electrical layouts
  • Mount sensors at appropriate locations, performing all necessary tasks, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics to ensure optimal wiring layouts
  • Install all wiring to connect system components, complying with all applicable safety standards and with customer’s concerns or preferences
  • Show customers how to use alarm system, discuss any questions or concerns and ensure customers are fully satisfied with the service they receive
  • Inspect and test systems to ensure all components are performing well and comply with safety requirements
  • Review installation manuals, building plans and work orders to plan optimal locations for system components and wiring
  • Identify and repair malfunctions in system components or wiring, including ordering and installing replacement parts as necessary
  • Compose and submit documentation and reports for each installation or repair visit, complying with company’s standard operating procedure.

Job Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • State certification in Fire Alarm & Detection Equipment or equivalent –
  • Certified in Gamewell/FCI
  • Minimum 7+ years industry experience
  • Proficiency in alarm panels, CCTV/IP Cameras and BDA’s
  • Adept at reviewing construction drawings and identify and communicate potential complications related to installing equipment
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Top customer service skills

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Silent Knight, Notifier, Edwards, Honeywell, Fire-Lite product lines a plus.
  • NICET a plus
  • Networking experience with security, CCTV systems or other
  • Computer aided design (CAD) software knowledge a plus

Project Manager

Advanced Alarm & Fire has an opening for a highly motivated Fire & Security Systems Project Manager to join our dynamic team. We are seeking experienced individuals who are interested in a long-term career path and are available to direct the day-to-day operations of field staff while they are engaged in the construction installation and in-service testing of all Security Systems and Fire Projects to include infrastructure design, procurement, build and testing with the project being managed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Project Manager will effectively plan and control assigned projects by monitoring progress, managing procurement and recording production and job costs
  • Develop and maintain project schedule and budget to ensure project meets initial estimates
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
  • Responsible for reviewing all associated contracts, specifications, drawings, scope of work, estimates, requirements and other pertinent project information and prepare a project plan for review
  • Attend pre-construction pre-bid meetings and site surveys
  • Oversee Submittal preparation and review
  • Responsible for month-end financial reviews, including revenue recognition and job cost review
  • Oversee the assignment of projects to staff members to obtain most effective utilization of resources to meet the Company’s commitments to customers
  • Responsible and accountable for the project management system and tools for all assigned projects from the time a project is acquired through the final payment of closed projects
  • Complete Project Close Out Report to identify final changes in work scope, additional revenue opportunities and any hindrances that may delay close out and final payment
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years industry and sales experience.
  • Certified in Gamewell/FCI, and also have knowledge of Silent Knight, Notifier, Honeywell, Fire-Lite product lines a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Project Management experience within the alarm and fire industry
  • 5 years+ of field installation experience and managing employees
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Highly organized with ability to multi task
  • Valid and clean driver’s license

  • NEC
  • Fire Alarm
  • Intrusion Alarm
  • CCTV
  • Access Control

Preferred:

  • NICET a plus
  • California Journeyman Card
  • Reg 4 certification
  • IP camera experience
  • Windows software configuration
  • Extensive network knowledge
  • Alarm agent card
