You have installed the fire alarm to detect and notify the occupants to a fire emergency. You have installed the intrusion alarm to detect unauthorized entry. Your central monitoring station is who your fire alarm system and your burglar alarm system communicate with to call for help. Think of it as an electronic 911.In addition, we can also provide analytic camera monitoring services.

Central Station Fire Security Monitoring Orange County Los Angeles Ventura Central monitoring stations use special telephone and mobile lines, radio channels, computers, software and trained staff to monitor their customers’ security systems and call the appropriate authorities in the event an alarm signal is received. Most commonly, you provide two phone lines (a primary and a back-up). We install the Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter, or DACT. This is the electronic telephone. We program this electronic telephone to communicate with our central station. This central station automatically receives any “events” associated with your fire and security alarm system. For a fire alarm system, this could be a tamper or supervisory type signal. This type of signal tells the occupant of the facility to, at minimum, take a look at something that may need attention, like a closed valve.

However, with security monitoring the most critical signal is a building general alarm. This indicates that there is a fire condition. During such an event, and the chaos that ensues, the occupant’s responsibility is to get out of the building safely. Calling 911 is definitively not on the top of the list of things to do. Not to worry, your central monitoring station took care of that for you. When the signal came in as a genera fire alarm, the central station personnel then dispatched the fire department to your address. The entire process took only seconds. In addition, it is likely that they were notified and dispatched before the “event” got out of hand, hopefully minimizing any damage.

Our central station is UL listed and approved, with dual redundant stations. Our primary station is in Orange County, CA, and our redundant station is in Texas. This is done becuase if one of the stations becomes unavailable (think major earthquake), the other station takes over.

Central Station Monitoring System Los AngelesSomewhat recently, many Authorities Having Jurisdiction, or AHJ’s have been allowing cellular monitoring DACTs. This removes the need for two phone lines (and the $60 monthly average for those lines), and communicates via cellular technology. While the cost per month for the monitoring is slightly higher than the prior service, it is easily absorbed by the savings of not needing the phone lines. Advanced Alarm & Fire, Inc. has been installing these cellular DACT’s since their first appearance on the market.
